Is that the Bear Lake Monster?

We went fishing yesterday with Mick, Teresa and Hillary. Here is what Trevor caught. It ended up being a 9 pound Mackinaw. Trevor struggled getting it in because it was fighting pretty hard. Awesome fish TREV!!

Shopping at Albertsons = $64.99 Smile on Amy's Face = PRICELESS

There is a good sale going on at Albertsons, so last night, I stayed up late cutting all of my coupons for the "BIG DAY". It took me quite a bit of time, but wow, was it worth it!

Denise and I got up and were at Albertsons at 5 A.M. Yes, that's right 5 a.m. when they opened. There were some good deals and we had to beat everyone else too them. We were amazed at how many insane people were waiting outside with us for them to open the doors. (At least Denise and I know we aren't the only crazy people around). Anyway, they have a deal where if you spend $30, you get $15 off voucher that prints to use on your next shopping order. I had to do 6 different transactions, so when the $15 voucher printed, I just used it on the next transaction. This is what I got.

Total Spent $64.99
Total Saved: $248.66
Total coupons $135.65(which I spent all of my time cutting out last night )

Here is an idea of some of the prices that I paid:

All Detergent: 67 Cents (now you can see why I got 13 of them)
Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion: FREE
Suave Lotion: 50 cents
5 lb bag flour: 25 cents
Skippy Peanut Butter: 88 cents
Progressive Soup: FREE
Mushrooms: $1.69
Best Foods Mayonnaise: 65 cents
Suave Deodorant: 9 cents
Cookie Pouches: 9 cents
Macaroni Grill Pasta : 67 cents
Betty Crocker Warm Delights: 75 cents
Albertsons Salt: 50 cents

Trevor and Nathan thought we were crazy to go that early, but I think we proved to them that it was way worth it! I think Denise and I have bragging rights on what we spent, don't you think?

When there is SILENCE.....

So the other day, Trevor was cleaning the kitchen (while I was at work...I know, I have the best husband ever). Anyway, he said Kailey was playing and then she all of a sudden got really quiet. He sneaked in to see what she was up to and this is what he found.

Fishing

We took advantage of the warm weather last weekend and went fishing. We didn't have much luck, but it was fun to just relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounding.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Kailey, Kaden and Buddy Trick or Treating

We met Denise and Grant and Stephanie and Kaden at Sunshine Terrace to take the kids around trick or treating. They have a program where all of the residents sit outside of their rooms so the kids can go room to room getting candy. Kailey and the kids LOVED it!
Isn't it BIRDS and BEES, not FROGS and BEES??

Trevor helping Kailey get candy from one of the residents. I think they loved seeing the kids in their costumes more than the kids liked getting candy. What posers! Aren't they so dang cute in their costumes?

To Become as a Little Child

Last week we went home to see my parents. While we were there, my mom told me that they took our dog that we have had for 10 years to the vet because he was really sick. We ended up getting the news that the best thing would be to put our dog Tanner to sleep. We were all devasted! Tanner has been the best dog. So we got Tanner from the vet late Friday night and stayed by him most of the night petting him and crying! Saturday morning my mom and dad took him to the vet to be put down. We buried him out on my parents property overlooking the reservoir. It was so sad! When we got in the truck after we buried him, Kailey made the comment, "Tanner go home." How do little kids know these things? We talked quite a bit about Tanner the rest of the weekend. But then again yesterday, while I was making some breakfast, I heard Kailey say, "Tanner go to Heavenly Father". We haven't talked about Tanner for at least 5 days so why she was thinking about it I don't know. I am constantly amazed at how little kids are so close to the spirit. I think the veil is definitely thinner for them and they can understand things a lot easier than adults. No wonder the scriptures tell us that unless we become as a little child, we can not enter into the Kingdom of God. They are so meek and perfect! I'm so grateful for Kailey and the joy that he has brought into our lives!
